“glad Ethereum is finally adopting the curve that’s already used in the web.”
EIP-7951 (a.k.a. RIP-7212) is finally coming to mainnet.
I am a random Ethereum believer, and over the 3 years we (with my past team members) tried to push Ethereum forward with an EIP, and it is coming to mainnet, which is perfect. However, the communication should’ve been much better.
It is important to remember that if you’re working with EF, one of your core responsibilities is to acknowledge and credit the individuals who contribute to your work and to Ethereum itself.
Over the past three years, @ulerdogan and I have invested a significant amount of time and effort into RIP-7212.
Today, it’s live almost everywhere, except Ethereum mainnet.
And now it’s coming to mainnet with Fusaka.
To be honest, the entire process of turning the RIP into a mainnet EIP was a poor example of communication from EF researchers and ecosystem contributors. It really shouldn’t be this difficult to give even a small nod of credit -at least to the RIP- for the work we did, or simply say thank you.
This is not a post to attack anyone. I genuinely believe in Ethereum, in working alongside people who share that belief, and I hold Ether as an asset myself.
But if the EF doesn’t improve this process, it will be impossible to keep Ethereum protocol contributions truly open and accessible to everyone.
Regardless, I’m happy to see RIP-7212 finally heading to mainnet. I genuinely hope EF improves its communication going forward. And I am glad Ethereum is finally adopting the curve that’s already used in the web.
